Questions, answered straight

Frequently asked questions.

The questions health-system leaders actually ask us — including the awkward ones.

Do we need to buy, install, or stand up any new software?

No — and this is deliberate. Every course ships as SCORM 1.2 / 2004 packages that your existing learning management system delivers, tracks, and reports on. No new app, no new logins, nothing for IT to provision. If your organization can assign any online course today, it can run this program.

Our LMS is old. Will it work?

Almost certainly. SCORM 1.2 has been the lowest common denominator of enterprise learning systems for two decades — if your LMS was built this century, it speaks it. Every course ships in four formats — SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI (Tin Can), and cmi5 — and we test against your platform before rollout.

How is this different from a generic AI course our staff could take online?

Generic AI courses don't know what a clinical environment is. This program is built by people who have trained healthcare workforces through hundreds of EHR go-lives and built healthcare AI companies — the examples are ambient documentation and in-basket drafts, not marketing copywriting. And it ends in a certification against a published, role-based standard, not a completion badge.

What does "certified" actually mean here?

A pass against the published HAIC Standard for that role: a scenario-based assessment with an 80% overall bar and a 60% floor in every competency domain — nobody gets certified by acing fundamentals while failing data protection. Certificates are signed by named experts, pinned to the standard version assessed against, and carry a verification ID an employer or auditor can check. Read the full standard →

Why does the certification expire after 18 months?

Because the AI your staff learned eighteen months ago is not the AI in front of them today. A lifetime AI credential is a contradiction. Recertification is a focused delta — what changed — plus a shortened exam, not a repeat of the full program.

How much time does it take per person?

Roughly two hours for the all-staff foundations track and three to four hours for the role-based tracks (clinical, leadership, governance) — self-paced, in your LMS, split however your scheduling reality demands. Assessments run 30–60 minutes depending on the credential.

Does any patient data touch this program?

No. Training scenarios use fictional charts and cases. The organizational readiness assessment asks about your leadership, training, governance, and technical posture — never about patients. Teaching staff what must never enter an AI tool is literally module two.

What does it cost?

Pricing is scoped to organization size and the tracks you deploy — a 200-bed community hospital and a multi-state system are different engagements. The readiness assessment is free and the fireside chat is free; start there and talk to us.

Can we pilot with one department first?

Yes — and we recommend it. A typical pilot: foundations for one service line plus the leadership track for its managers, with readiness scores before and after. It produces the internal evidence you'll want before an organization-wide rollout.

Do you offer live, expert-led training too?

Yes. Every track is self-paced by default, and our founding experts also deliver live workshops, leadership sessions, and go-live-style floor support as a premium tier — the same people who sign the certification, in the room with your teams.

Are CEUs or contact hours available?

An accreditation path is actively being explored, and the standard is documented so accreditors can audit it. Today, certificates carry named-expert signatures and independent verification; accreditation status will be published on this site as it lands.

Who is behind this?

Three people fluent in both sides of the problem: April Reed (founder & CEO of EHR Concepts, 18 years training healthcare workforces), Robert Henehan (founder of Henecorp, COO of BastionGPT, former health-system analytics director), and Fasa Husain, PhD, MBA (CEO & founder of Futurize Now and Publish Now).
